Biography

Asher Allen is an American former professional football player, speaker, and health and wellness professional best known for his career as a cornerback in the National Football League. He played three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after being selected in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Allen was born on January 22, 1988, in Georgia and attended Tucker High School, where he developed into a standout defensive back. He went on to play college football at the University of Georgia, earning a reputation for toughness, discipline, and football intelligence. His strong collegiate performance led to his selection by the Minnesota Vikings with the 86th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

During his NFL career from 2009 to 2011, Allen appeared in 45 games, recording 134 total tackles, four interceptions, and numerous pass breakups. He was known as a physical corner who was willing to take on larger receivers and contribute in run support. His career included several key plays, including forced fumbles and interceptions against top quarterbacks. Injuries, including concussions, ultimately shortened his playing career. In May 2012, Allen officially retired from professional football to prioritize long term health and life beyond the game.

After retiring from the NFL, Allen focused on education, personal growth, and service to others. He returned to complete his degree at the University of Georgia and began transitioning into a career centered on health, wellness, leadership, and mentorship.

In his post football career, Allen has become deeply involved in functional health, fitness, and nutrition. He holds multiple professional certifications, including NASM credentials, and has pursued advanced studies in nutrition. His work emphasizes metabolic health, functional training, and sustainable wellness rather than short term fitness trends. He works with individuals and athletes to help them improve physical health, energy, and overall quality of life.

Allen is also an active speaker and mentor. He regularly speaks to youth groups, high school and college athletic programs, and community organizations. His talks focus on leadership, character, discipline, identity beyond sports, and preparing for life after athletics. Drawing from his own transition out of the NFL, he helps athletes and young people understand how to build purpose, resilience, and long term success beyond performance on the field.

Faith plays a central role in Allen’s life and service. He is involved in ministry and faith based outreach and is a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His helping work is rooted in principles of service, humility, and personal responsibility. Through mentoring, coaching, and speaking, he seeks to positively impact others spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Today, Asher Allen is recognized not only as a former NFL player, but as a leader in health education, mentorship, and community development. His life’s work centers on helping people live healthier, more intentional lives by combining lessons from elite athletics with faith, wellness, and character driven leadership.
